WE LOVE DICK!!
We here on the Moon, brought in the New Year, in our usual way this year. It has actually become quite a yearly tradition. We like to rock in the New Year with Dick Clark. He has always been such a friendly face and a part of our family, each and every year. We were so glad to see that he was "Rockin' in the New Year" this year. We missed seeing him last year at this time, because of his illness. It was apparent that he was still suffering, from the symptoms that were left with him, from the stroke that he had last year. His appearance was frail.....his voice was labored.....and his speech was afflicted. I must admit that it was sad seeing him like this....but we were just glad to see him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dick Clark. We wish him the best and hope to see him "Rockin' in the New Year" for many years to come. You're a trooper, Dick! Hang in there!! We love you......

I must admit that I haven't listened to any of Mr. McGraw's music...but I must also admit that when I heard his song one day on the radio, while I was rearranging my bedroom furniture, it stopped me dead in my tracks! I had to stop what I was doing and sit down and listen to what he was saying. His song made so much sense to me. It made me think....I think that probably alot of us get too caught up in this crazy world of life and sweat the small stuff. I know that I'm guilty of it.
I wish that we could all look around our little world and realize what is truly important to us. We need to all enjoy our time here on our precious planet Earth and take notice of the small things in life, that are right before our very eyes, that we never seem to take the time to notice.
It reminds me of the movie, "American Beauty".
At the end of the movie when Lester Burnham dies, played by Kevin Spacey, he says......"I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me ... but it's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst ...
And then I remember ... to relax, and not try to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain. And I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. Don't worry ... you will someday."
We can all learn an important lesson from Lester Burnham and from the song by Tim McGraw. Life is short......please take the time to enjoy it while you can.
